War of the WorldsNo, this isn’t a musical version of the Tom Cruise film – it’s a live performance of the 1978 concept album by Jeff Wayne which featured the work of Richard Burton, Justin Hayward and Chris Thompson. The album put to music the work of famed writer H. G. Wells, and fans of trippy ‘70s rock will doubtlessly be familiar with much of the music.
Familiar facesWith War of the Worlds tickets you can see some familiar faces live on tour, including Chris Thompson and Justin Hayward. Richard Burton, who played the journalist on the album, will also be making an appearance – albeit a virtual one.
New for the tourThe show will feature performances from a the same great cast from last year, as well as live music from the 10 piece Black Smoke Band, the 48 piece ULLAdubULLA Strings and an unforgettable stage prop – a fully operating 30 foot Martian fighting machine.
