Add a glint of glamour to your usual night out and indulge in some inspired cocktails on the lively Lordship Lane.

The Venue
The third addition to the Adventure Bar chain, East Dulwich is also the largest, although it is still not big by any measure. The interior is softly lit with red lampshades set against dark wood. At the bar an impressive display of spirits and liqueurs is lit up across the whole of the back wall, while on other walls, canvasses of cocktails hang proudly. Choose between sitting with a group of friends at a table or pull up a stool at the bar and chat to the friendly staff.

The Atmosphere
What sets this cocktail bar apart from others is its lack of pretension and its contrastingly relaxed mood. People come here to have fun and dancing on tables is to be expected. The staff are welcoming and help create a light-hearted atmosphere. The majority of the crowd are in their twenties to thirties and are predominantly but not exclusively groups of girls. The music is eclectic but leans towards pop and rock and is sure to get you at least bobbing your head if nothing else.

The Drink
With sixty drinks on the cocktail menu, plus a wine list and a selection of beers, you will be spoilt for choice at Adventure Bar and Lounge. Of course the business here is cocktails and there are choices to cater for every taste. There’s the highly recommended Porn Star – a very sweet passion fruit based drink with a shot of Prosecco on the side to balance the flavour – and there’s the Flaming Zombie – a rum based drink that should be ordered even just for the excitement of seeing it set alight before it is served - and there’s an Espresso Martini, which you're bound to love if you're a coffee drinker.

On first opening the abundant menu, don’t panic if you find it a little overwhelming, as the very friendly staff will happily guide you through it and make recommendations. There are also some interesting shots on offer; fancy a Skittles vodka, anyone? Cocktail prices range from £6.50 to £8 but get in during happy hour, held between 5pm and 8pm every night, and they are 2-4-1.

If you’re not in the mood for cocktails then the short but apt wine list of the usual favourites, sold for £15 a bottle, and the selection of bottled beers ranging from San Miguel to Peroni is an ample choice.

The Last Word
If cocktails are your thing, then Adventure Bar is a good choice for a taste of the old classics or trying something new. A great place to unwind and have fun.
