We went there to watch El clasico on 16/04/2011. The food was good, nice international selection. Same applies for the beers, although they did not have Paulaner on that evening. We watched the game in the basement which has only one massive screen. The place quickly became very hot and humid as there was no ventilation. We booked a table for seven but ended up taking nine seats for which the waitress kept shouting at us until we gave up two of those. When leaving, the doorman was rudely telling people to keep it down and to leave the area now. Not going back thanks!
I went back to Jetlag after visiting London during the Summer with friends. New Cafe barriers outside kept the chill away and those god damn heaters were so hot and it was pretty cold outside too. The food menu has got a bit smaller as has the cocktail list, which was a delight on the last visit as we spent almost all day working are way through the menu. The Irish guy on our previous visit was taking our order and having laugh/entertaining most of the room, who seemed to be regulars in the summer. This time tho, it was a bit more yes and no, little help or guide with the menu which filcks over. Still able to get the same quality of drinks and food, but as i said choice a wee bit down from before.
The variety of different sport that is shown was great, however that was the only thing that this bar seemed to have going for it.
The food was overpriced for the portion I received, and it did not come in a timely manner whatsoever. The wait staff/bartenders did not seem to have any system to which they knew which items went to which table. They were running around giving the wrong food to the wrong people.
I was also overcharged on my tab and insulted by the bartender who finished up by saying that he had been in the service industry a long time and would not make a mistake multiple times. I am perfectly capable of remembering of what I had ordered and what should have been on the tab.
What a disapointing place to spend time and money. Visiting with friends for a few cocktails and beers. We were inundated with improper comments from two of the waiters at the bar. One I believe is/was a manager his comments and attitude were aggressive and rude. Matched by an extremely arrogant Irishman the atmosphere was unbearable. They seemed to take great delight in spurring each other on with their degrading comments and childish behaviour. We left quickly and will never return.
A friend who lives overseas was in the country so I thought that a group of us could meet in Jetlag for food and watch the Man U game as advertised on the Jetlag website as I had heard pretty good things about Jetlag. I thought I'd ring up to see if I could reserve a table but was informed that there was a private function on and that we could only watch the game in the upstairs which has 1 tv but it would not be the Man U game! I suggested that they amended their website and I got the impression this was not the first time it had happened. What annoys me is that if the website had said it was only showing the Chelsea game due to a private function then so be it, but it didn't and luckily I had the brains to phone up in advance.
Judging by a previous review it has happened before. Its a shame as it looks like a nice bar, but I have no intention of ever going.
The bar staff were all great and friendly, the cocktails delicious. It's a pity the evening was ruined by an overzealous doorman. Four stars for the bar staff and drinks - no stars for security. Will not be returning.
We were very disappointed with Jetlag!!!!!We wanted to watch a football match that was advertised on their website.
Once we arrived, the waitress informed us that the match was not on as they had a private party in the room where the screen was.
We had to leave and find another place to watch the match, that of course had already started. We had a terrible time and all because Jetlag had advertised something and in the end it wasn't true.
I would never return there!!!!!
Top venue, great service, great food and friendly attentive staff.
If your looking for a place to relax, have some food and a drink while enjoy sport you cannot top Jetlag.
Been here a few times and had a super time on each occassion..
I hope this places does well and London really needs such a decent Sports orientated bar
In response to the above review from the 19th October. I appreciate that you demand a high level of customer service.
I had only launched an entire new food and drink menu consisting of over 30 different food dishes and 60 plus cocktails and my staff were still in training. I admit that it does look bad on our behalf.
I notice that a previous review praising the cocktails came from the same I.P. Address, and I would appreciate if you (both) were to call by again on your way to the traditional pub, I would gladly discuss the problems you have and address them to your satisfactory demands of quality service.
Delicious cocktails, nice atmosphere, hope it's discovered by more people.
The staff were friendly and the lampshades made of marbles are v cool!
They do a champagne breakfast too, cater for all times of the day! We'll be back...
