I celebrated my birthday at Neo bar last Friday and had a wonderful time. The venue is very cosy, classy, intimate and a great place to hold an event/celebration. The music was not too loud, which was great, you could actually hear the people you were talking to clearly and the bar was not too crowded. The location of Neo bar is perfect if you are travelling by tube, it is a 2-3 minute walk from Barbican station. The cocktails, food, decor and service were fantastic and would definitely recommend Neo bar to everyone. Thank you to Sonny and his team for making my friends and I feel very welcome and for making delicious cocktails! I'm sure I'll be back soon :)

Fabulous bar with great decor. Brilliant service by the Event Manager and all staff involved. We had our best Christmas Party to date and nothing was too much trouble. The food served is brilliant, (especially the pizza's) and I received rave reviews from all guests at the party about the overall evening. Wonderful full measure cocktails with a great range to choose from. Overall, a great hidden space in London. Thank you for a great time and we will definitely be visiting you again!

Neo is a great place, the staff are friendly and very professional, and Sonny went out of his way to help us with our event. I absolutely recommend Neo for corporate events.

I booked my husbands 40th surprise birthday party at Neo in Barbican. The venue is stylishly decorated with soft lighting, crushed velvet seating and a lovely long bar!! It's not huge venue which was just perfect for the size group we had. We had a selection of canapes and pizzas served to our guests and everyone commented on how good they were. The kebabs were just like the ones your mum would make. Sonny was an absolute delight to work with, he was so accommodating and stuck to his word when continuously assuring me that the night would be a success. He went out of his way to order in bottles that the bar would not normally serve. It was such a brilliant evening and I've had a huge number of texts from guests saying they had a fabulous time!!!! Well done Sonny and team!!!!

Myself and a friend arranged a joint birthday at Neo Bar and from day one of organising, Sonny and his team made sure everthing was sorted from the area, food and drink. I cannot recommend this bar highly enough.

Everyone who came had a great time and commented on the relaxing ambiance, decor and general friendliness of the staff and how accommodating they were to ensure everyone had a good time.

My brother and I had our 30/40th birthday at Neo and we had an amazing time. The venue is perfect for private events as it is intimate and comfortable. Sonny (the owner) is exceedingly helpful and thinks of everything. From the planning meeting right through to the smooth running of the event on the night every detail is taken care of. Several of our guests commented on the great venue. All in all, I would highly recommend Neo to anyone wanting to host cracking evening.

Me and my boyfriend were trying to find a good place to celebrate our birthday's at, and i came across Neo. I loved the pics and the decor and decided to go for it. Very happy that i did, spot on my kind of place. Lovely decor, modern and sleek. Music perfect volume so you could still talk without having to shout, which is very important to me. We were around 20 people, and all of my friends really liked it as well. Not crowded, really mature kind of place. One of my friends even commented how nicely they got greeted by the door, no problems at all. Very easy to order drinks, no ques, and they had a lovely selection of cocktails. The manager Sonny was very helpful and even called to make sure i got my deposit back which i found delightful. I would without a doubt recommend this place for any kind of celebration, and would definitely consider doing my birthday there next year again.

I just had my 40th birthday party 3 days ago for which I hired Neo exclusively. Whilst searching for a venue I was looking for something that was modern, my style and with space that did not feel too claustrophobic when filled with people. I had not expected to find a place like Neo. The decor is simply stunning with the drinks and food menu so perfect for the type of evening I had in mind. From the very beginning Sonny has been excellent to work with. He makes it very easy to make all the necessary arrangements so much so that you know on the night it will go as planned. He leads his team well ensuring you have the best evening possible. Everyone who attended the party on Saturday were very impressed with the venue and its staff.
I also went to the bar a few times prior to the party to get a feel for the space and make the final arrangements( ok maybe I wanted to try out the tempting cocktails on a Friday eve too!!) - Sonny and his team were very welcoming.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Neo not just for an exclusive party but even for a night out with friends. If you are looking for a WOW factor for your party you could not go wrong with Neo not just for its decor but for the staff that provide an excellent service.

Organised my Husbands Bday drinks here and had a fantastic time! Sonny and his staff were so nice and helpful and helped to create a really relaxed atmosphere. Food was good- we mainly ordered pizza's and loved the fact that we had our own separate section. Will def be going back again!

We very recently hired the entire venue for our Civil Partnership after party and the whole process of planning through to execution went without a hitch. Sonny, the owner and his team were fantastic and always on hand to help with anything we wanted to do. Sonny personally helped us to structure the night so that we remained within budget, which when you consider we had 90 hungry and thirsty guests from 7.30pm-1.30am, it's a remarkable achievement. Every one of our guests commented on what a great venue Neo was and I can certainly recommend the venue to anyone. The venue can appear to be on the small side, but with 90 guests it still felt very spacious and comfortable. Great air conditioning and sound system and seating around the edge where the volume is much quieter which meant people could have proper conversations without needing to shout. The food and cocktails were all amazing and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. Sonny also worked with us to create a special cocktail just for our party - which went down a storm. A great place for a party and I will certainly be recommending Neo to everyone I know.

The food at Neo is amazing to say the least. They have a range of lovely cocktails and the venue itself is gorgeous and funky. The staff are very friendly. It's my favourite bar in london! Definitely recommend it to everyone!

A fantastic city bar for week nights and weekends. We had a party there on a Saturday night and it was brilliant. The food is great - our friends had the wheat/gluten free pizzas and they said they were by far the best they have ever had! The cocktails are excellent too. Staff are friendly and make a real effort with private parties.

We had a surprise 30th party there for 40 people and it was fantastic. The venue is beautiful and the service was excellent. We ordered all of the pizzas and everyone loved them. An excellent venue for any kind of event - from after-work cocktails to a big weekend party.

We recently had our engagement party at Neo bar on a Friday night and it was one of the best nights ever!
All our friends loved Neo bar too and were very impressed with the venue, the atmosphere, great service, amazing cocktail list, and of course the food menu, in particular the pizzas!

Had my 30th Birthday party here and Sonny (manager) was superb throughout with his handling of the event.
The reserved area was more than adequate for my late arriving guests. The area was reserved from 7 until late, but my guests didn't arrive until 9. Most bars would have given the area away as a third of the bar was empty for me, two thirds were completely rammed! So can't rate Sonny and Neo highly enough for holding the area for me and making it a 30th to remember! Cheers guys!

We expected good things and tried Neo twice in 2011, both times we left after one drink. The `heavy` on the door says it all. Some females in our group found the clientele slightly intimidating.

I held a party at Neo bar earlier this month on Saturday night - I hired the entire venue and it was a superb evening. Sonny and his team worked hard to ensure everything went to plan. There were plenty of bar staff on the night (so getting a drink was quick and painless!) and Sonny also arranged a late licence for the bar and was really accommodating about me bringing my own DJ for the night. Would definitely recommend it for a private party - a brilliant find.

Really nice bar- very good selection of drinks, house (red) wine was excellent and so was the food (especially the meat/olives/sun-dried tomato platter). Would definitely go again.

I recently hired NEO for a surprise birthday party for my wife..... and my goodness, what a venue..... everything from the decor, the food, the luscious cocktails and the staff were absolutely perfect !
I don't have much experience in organising such events but Sonny and his team helped me organise everything, right down to the little details to make sure that my guests and most importantly my wife, would have a night that they would remember.... and nearly 2 weeks on.. she still has a smile on her face!
Thank you so much to all those at Neo who made this a perfect night. It goes without saying that I would unreservedly recommend Neo to anyone...

We had our Christmas party here at Neo and had a fabulous time. The staff were incredibly accommodating and made sure that everyone enjoyed the event. The barmen were very knowledgeable about the drinks and we had great fun with the mixology classes. Overall, a great venue, great drinks, lovely food and brilliant staff.

What a brilliant venue! Great atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent service. We held a new product press launch here and were so impresssed we booked our Christmas party in too! Couldn't fault the place, Sonny and his team were accommodating, flexible and extremely efficient from the very 1st day we enquired about the venue, right through until the day after the party when we went to pack up. We've established a great relationship with Neo and wouldn't hesitate to hold any future press events or otherwise there in the future. The classy decor, extensive wine and cocktail list and overall hospitality was 1st class and sent the right message to our clients and guests.

We were looking for a venue in the Barbican area that was just a little different and offered a Mayfair feel to it, for a launch celebration for our company and some guests. On a recommendation we visited Neo for a look around. From the moment we walked down the steps into a classy, plush, atmospheric yet spacious, unpretentious basement bar, and were met by Sonny the manager, we knew we found the right place. Sonny took time to find out about us, our company and reserved for us an area on the night we booked. The night went fantastically with excellent staff, excellent service and a fantastic range of chilled wines, and beers and inevitably, as the night moved on, we discovered the fantastic Cocktails. We would recommend Neo to anyone, and definitely plan to return again soon. If you want to find out for yourselves, look for the small doorway with the red carpet and go down and check it out yourself. Ask for Sonny or any of his team. Enjoy!

i am new at organising Christmas events for office and this was mine time to shine. Sonny helped me through the whole organising of the event right up to the date of the party.

i felt as ease that i had Sonny looking after my party.

i had great feedback from all of the office, they loved the drink and the food especially the pizzas, the venue was a perfect size for the amount of people that attended.

Neo was the perfect venue for a welcome drinks celebration. Our group consisted of mixed ages and was suitable for all. The location was perfect, venue was just the right size, staff were very accommodating and friendly and the food was really good. I would definitely recommend it and will be visiting Neo again.

A group of friends had their 30th birthday here recently and Neo was a fantastic venue for it. Very tastefully decked out with a good selection of drinks available (the expensive vodkas are particularly lethal) the staff made every effort to ensure that a good night was had by all. It's a good size to hire out the whole place & the option to bring your own music was appreciated. Thoroughly recommended.

Went to Neo's for pre night out drinks - had a great time. Was a group of 12 guys. If your looking for somewhere to go have fun, sit down, chill and be able to talk still then Neo is defo an option. Great staff.

We held a party here for about 45 people on a Saturday night. The group was pretty mixed, mostly young professional, some rugby and hockey players, ranging in age from 22 to 30. We had a great time and were really well looked after by Sonny and his team. The bar atmosphere is excellent with great decor; the stone walls are an awesome touch. The cocktail menu was good with a great range of classics to cater for all tastes. Because the bar is underground it feels like you've discovered a secret.

I would really recommend this bar for mid week but, if you can be bothered to drag yourself this far into the city, also for a weekend drink.

We had our engagement party here in September and from start to finish it was really great. The staff were very helpful, accommodating and fun, and made it easy for us to relax and enjoy the party. The atmosphere was perfect - very slick and stylish, with low lighting and good music - I don't know a bar like it London, let alone in Smithfield. It is a good size, not too big, and has lots of different seating areas and places to sit at the bar. There is a huge range of cocktails on offer, and all of them are amazing - looking as good as they taste. And the pizzas and platters are just the sort of food you want to accompany them, and pretty good value too. All in all, a really fantastic experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out. I shall certainly be back!

My fiancée and I hosted our engagement party here a couple of weekends ago and we couldn't have picked a better place. From the start the owner, Sonny, was extremely professional and offered us some good advice around how to plan the evening. We decided to hire the venue on a Saturday night and Sonny had arranged a food tasting so we could sample all the bits and bobs prior to the event. Our guests loved the food and thought the cocktails were even better! The house DB9 drink seemed to be a hit with everyone! It was an absolute pleasure arranging our night at Neo Bar and we didn't feel stressed out prior or during the evening as Sonny took great care of us...his attention to detail is excellent! We'll definitely be heading back for some more drinks as the festive season kicks in!

We went here for a friend's birthday and I was really unimpressed. While I do have to admit this isn't the sort of venue I would choose to go to otherwise, it just doesn't live up to all five star ratings!
As nice and quaint as it seems at first, what kills it is the atmosphere. It doesn't seem relaxed in the slightest. The music was just OK overall, sometimes good and sometimes really bad. Drinks were expensive in my opinion, but possibly normal price for the area. What put me off is that they added the "optional charge" to the bill when you went to order at the bar, which they don't normally do in other bars. I'm a big Cosmo fan but the drink ordered at the bar wasn't even close to my standards. My partner had a Mojito, which had too much sugar in it. I didn't want to make a fuss and spoil the night, but simply didn't order another one.

I privately hired this place one Saturday and had a great time. Good service, the manager is very professional and the cocktails are great. Great find in the City.
