2-4-1 cocktails in the middle of Canary Wharf? You have to wonder: maybe it's the recession, maybe it's August and all the bankers are away, so they have to make a penny during the Summer. But when you get taken to a table and feel the sticky tops and notice how the staff, however professional, can't speak proper English, then you understand.
The food was fine, in my opinion, and the prices were quite OK, again, taking into account we're in Canary Wharf, but those sticky tables and the staff who don't look at all "worthy" of working in a place that sits in an area, otherwise known to be "high-class", really made me doubt the place and the only reason that will probably make me go back, though not in a near future, is their impressive "2-4-1 cocktail menu" with June Bugs and Raspberry Margaritas.
I went to Smollensky's Restaurant last week and it was really busy and the staff still had time to ensure that I was happy and fed and watered and were very kind and genuine to me and my partner. We had an amazing meal and sat very relaxed for 3 hours drinking and eating on the beautiful rooftop terrace that overlooks all the hustle and bustle of Canary Wharf but what feels like you are on holiday. It got a bit chilly and then all of a sudden as though they were reading my mind the outside heaters came on. The food was amazing, we had Steak and also the Ribs which were huge and such good value for money. The atmosphere and the whole night were perfect and at the end of our meal the manager (a young lady with a London accent) came over and asked if everything was okay and asked if we enjoyed our meal and I thought that we a really nice touch.
I would advise everyone in the Canary Wharf area to go and visit them as it is well worth it and I am proud to say that I am going to ensure that Smollensky's Restaurant is my regular place to eat from now on.
Great venue, took friends from abroad there. That's not going to happen again.
Poor service. The food was well below par, both in presentation and taste. The food explains the service!! If i had to serve that, i would also stay away from the customers....

After reading mixed reviews. Decided to visit Smollenskys in Canary Wharf.
Very good value for money (especially being here in Canary Wharf), The 5 of us enjoyed our meal and they have a very good wine list, with wines from all over the world.
Friendly staff and manager. I do recommend it. Thanks.
I went to this resturant due to the reviews I read and I was very disappointed. I was shown to my table and it took the waiting staff awhile to notice me and take my order. I order a beverage and when it turned up the milk had expired so the was bit floating in my beverage my food turned up cold. I doubt I will ever visit it again.
I have been going to Smollenskys for a few years now and they have never let me down.
Great food, friendly staff and a great location.
Smollenskys is my favourite restaurant in Canary Wharf for a relaxing, thoroughly pleasant meal. The steak is fantastic!
I was also really impressed with the wine list on my recent visit to Smollenskys Canary Wharf.
