Rolling Stones legend Bill Wyman’s famous Kensington restaurant lives up to its name, giving affluent West Londoners shelter complete with arguably the stickiest ribs in the metropolis.

The Venue
Just off of High Street Kensington, Sticky Fingers stands as a mark of casual, laid back cool which West Londoners often crave. Dark leather booths, practical wooden furniture and neutral colours make up the decor, but it’s the Rolling Stones memorabilia, from posters and photos to guitars and artwork, that inject the rock and roll vibe. If you like the idea of Mick Jagger’s infamous lips pouting at you whilst you tuck into a steak, or Keith Richards grinning at you as you munch on nachos, then Sticky Fingers is ideal.

The Atmosphere
With rock music playing from across the decades, young and old feel at home here, making Sticky Fingers a popular destination for families, whilst a few suits and couples also make an appearance. The staff are more than friendly, delivering service with a welcoming smile, encouraging the lively buzz that reverberates over the music.

The Food
Sticky Fingers prides itself on delivering proper comfort food, which in the eyes of Wyman consists of meat and carbs - thus the menu is not for the fainthearted or the calorie counting, cholesterol aware folk of London. Portions are more than generous and you may need to psyche yourself up to get through a three course meal.

For starters, the nachos to share (£9.95) are crisp and salty, loaded with melted cheese and plenty of creamy guacamole and mild salsa on the side. The pan fried tiger prawns (£7.95) are cooked to perfection, and the quesadillas (£6.45) are a simple combination of cheese and chicken with a sharp hint of chive.

For mains, the most popular dish is the hickory smoked ribs, which costs £14.95 for a full rack of ribs covered in a sweet, smoky barbecue sauce. Each rib is loaded with tender pork meat, and the sauce they’re smothered in may be sticky but it’s also deliciously moreish. The burgers are also popular, with a large selection of toppings to suit every taste. If you have room for dessert, the Knickerbocker Glory is a treat for the child in all of us, with crunchy caramel sauce and plenty of fresh fruit to give a refreshing end to your meal.

The Drink
The wine list is simple and limited, offering a mix of global wines from £14.50 to £25.95, plus wine by the glass. Happy hour from 4.30pm to 7.30pm gives customers 50% off of selected cocktails, and the Lemon Tree is a sweet treat of limon rum, passion fruit, lemon, Chambord and mint. The beer on tap is Amstel at £3.50, and bottles of Kronenbourg, Heineken, Sagres and Corona are also available.

The Last Word
