100 Percent Design London

Looking at the world of design and creativity in close up, the 100 Percent Design London fair comes to Earls Court this September to inspire and excite.

Part of the London Design Festival, there are hundreds of seminars and talks taking place throughout the fair, 100 Percent Design London is the place to be if you are interested in architecture and design. Looking at green issues like low carbon building, new and advanced technology, sustainability in architecture and building design, the show will host a wide range of topics for discussion and is set to be an inspiration to anyone in London's design industry.

A full seminar programme allows design fans to get to grips with new and exciting innovations, while the Design a Rug competition will show off all the winners at the show. A brand new interactive light installation from Corian presents a stunning collection of chandeliers which react to the people walking amongst them, creating endless colours and variation of position.

The star of the 100 Percent Design London fair will no doubt be this year's bar. The Levantina Bar has been designed by the Lime Studio who only graduated one year ago. Using new materials including a porcelain ceramic tile, the bar contains both a formal area under a canopy and a comfy relaxing space where you can chill out and have a few drinks. Made from black granite and marble, the bar is sure to be the location for many a hot design related debate.

Along with 100 Percent Sustainable which continues to promote design in an ethical and environmentally friendly way, this years 100 Percent Design London fair launches Lighten Up. Focusing on innovative sustainable lighting, this area will be looking at how lighting makes us feel along with the ways in which environmental issues can be overcome.

Opening hours for trade and designers for the design fair at Earls Court are 10am to 9pm on Thursday 18th, 10am to 7pm on Friday 19th, 10am to 6pm on Saturday 20th, and 11am to 6pm on Sunday 21st September 2008.

Entry for the public is from 11am to 6pm on Sunday 21st September only.
