24 Hour Plays at Old Vic presents a unique collection of six short plays that have been written, directed, cast and rehearsed in under 24 hours. Written and performed by a talented company of acclaimed actors, writers, producers and directors, all proceeds from the night go to Old Vic New Voices, an enterprise that develops young theatre talent and builds new audiences.
Celebrity Gala
Overseen by Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey, the 24 Hour Plays Celebrity Gala is now in its eighth year, and the 2011 event boasts some of the most celebrated stars from the world of theatre. With well known faces such as Jane Asher, Lily Cole, Brendan Cole, Mackenzie Crook, Freddie Fox, Anthony Head, Ruthie Henshall, Mathew Horne, Gina McKee and Isy Suttie are all taking part in the celebrity gala to produce some first rate theatre for the audience. Fundraising fun with 24 Hour Plays at Old Vic
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Old Vic New Voices, which supports young and emerging theatre talent and opens up The Old Vic to a wider, more diverse range of audiences. Ticket holders can enjoy an evening of top flight theatre in London whilst supporting a worthy, cultural cause.
2011 Celebrity Gala
The 24 Hour Plays at Old Vic celebrity gala is one of the highlight fundraising events in the theatre's programme, traditionally featuring more than a few famous faces. This year, the event is hosted by comedian and actor Rob Brydon who will lead the audience through the evening’s proceedings, in a lively night of theatre and fun at a legendary London theatre venue.
