See fresh and exciting short films in stunning 3D at the 3D film festival at Barbican. With everything from music videos to documentaries and animation to live action in the mix, there's bound to be something to suit all tastes.

Short and Sweet
Emerging out of the Short and Sweet weekly film screenings, the 3D film festival at Barbican offers a feast of visual delights in small, bite sized chunks. If you're a film fan who finds your attention wandering halfway through a full feature length film, or if you simply appreciate the originality and innovation of shorts, then this is the event for you.

3D fever
With films such as Avatar, Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans making headlines for their 3D action sequences, you might be forgiven for assuming that 3D films are the preserve of high budget, Hollywood blockbusters. The 3D film festival at Barbican aims to turn that notion on its head by championing indie films and maverick filmmakers who are making the most of this exciting new technique.

Stereoscopic techniques
Animated shorts, live action films, documentaries, fiction and music videos are all on the lineup for the first ever 3D film festival at Barbican, with a series of shorts being screened in the cinema. With a range of film enthusiasts, DIY amateurs and up and coming names in the indie film industry due to showcase their work, you're bound to come away from the festival with a new appreciation of stereoscopic styles and techniques that create the illusion of depth on screen.

The 3D film festival at Barbican starts 6.30pm, Friday 12th November 2010. Tickets cost £7.50 - £10.50. For more information and to book tickets in advance, call 0207 638 4141 or click on the link below.
