The 46664 concert at Hyde Park in June 2008 is set to be the musical and celebratory event of the summer. Celebrating the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela and raising valuable funds for the AIDS campaign named after the number he while imprisioned in South Africa, the 46664 concert will be an amazing spectacle of live music and inspiring guests.

Nelson Mandela is coming to London in June to end his collaboration with the 46664 charity and fully retire from public life. Marking his amazing 90th birthday with a concert crammed full of celebrities and musicians, the 46664 concert at Hyde Park will certainly go down in history as one of the biggest events ever held there.

It will be nearly 20 years ago on the day of the 46664 concert at Hyde Park that the Free Nelson Mandela gig rocked London at Wembley Stadium. Having been such an inspiration and given hope to the prisoners of Robben Island in 1988, Nelson Mandela has chosen to mark his 90th birthday in London with another fantastic live concert, featuring some of the same artists that played two decades ago.

Annie Lennox and Simple Minds both hit the stage back in 1988 and have have been prominent speakers for the 46664 campaign ever since. Now they will appear along side loads of other artists at the Nelson Mandela birthday concert in what is sure to be a fantastic live show. Queen and Paul Rodgers, Leona Lewis, Shirley Bassey, Razorlightm Andrea and Sharon Corr, Eddy Grant and Jamelia are just a few of the big names who will play live on the day.

Bringing some African rhythm to the proceedings will be Johnny Clegg, Sipho Mabuse, the AIDS orphan choir, Papa Wembe, and Sudanese rapper Emmanuel Jal. More artists will appear at the 46664 concert at Hyde Park with several surprise guests and unnanounced performers making the event even more exciting for everyone there.

As Nelson Mandela is in London for three days before the 46664 concert, there are plenty of other exciting events taking place across the city in the run up to the gig. Plenty more special visitors and celebrities will be joining him as he celebrates his birthday, so Bill Clinton, Will Smith, Gordon Brown, Oprah Winfrey, Robert de Niro and Forest Whittaker could be hitting the stage at Hyde Park for the evening too.

An amazing event for an amazing man, the 46664 concert at Hyde Park takes place on 27th June 2008. Tickets for the event go on sale at 9am on Friday 9th May 2008. For more information on 46664 concert tickets, click on the link below.
