Disney meets Dickens
Widely expected to be one of the biggest Christmas films of 2009, A Christmas Carol is the 3D Disney animation of the classic festive tale by Charles Dickens. With animated characters voiced by Jim Carrey, Colin Firth, Bob Hoskins and Robin Wright Penn, the special screening at A Christmas Carol world premiere will be attended by many of the stars of the film. In a grand celebration of Dickensian London and Disney's A Christmas Carol world premiere, Oxford Street, St Pauls Cathedral and Regent Street are switching on their stunning Christmas lights simultaneously for 2009. The stars of the new Disney film will be on hand to switch on the lights in a free event featuring live music and plenty of street entertainment. World record attempt
As well as the lights switching on ceremony, the night of A Christmas Carol world premiere also includes a world record attempt. Sing your way into the Guinness World Book of Records by joining St Paul's Cathedral Choir in a mass carol sing along to get the festive season off to a flying start. A Christmas Carol world premiere starts at 7.30pm, Tuesday 3rd November.
