Taking over the Royal Festival Hall for one night of crazy Christmas stories and rapid-fire monologue, A John Waters Christmas at Southbank Centre sees the creator of films such as Pink Flamingos, Hairspray and A Dirty Shame spread his own unique brand of festive cheer. Revelling in the kitsch, trashy and downright insane aspects of the modern holiday season, John Waters will be sharing is fanatic love for Santa Claus and his unhealthy obsession with real life festive horror stories.

Touching on everything from exploitation Christmas movies to his desire to remake his own films into seasonal children's classics, John Waters assumes the persona of an insubordinate Santa and patron saint of the Christmas obsessed. Alongside the John Waters Christmas at Southbank Centre show, there are plenty of other special events and concerts taking place to help you get in the festive spirit.
