Aelred Bartlett at Adonis Art

A posthumous show for Aelred Barlett at Adonis Art highlights the delicacy of skill with which the artist painted his watercolours. Having taken a job which required him to lodge with a family in Greece, Aelred formed a deep sentimental attachment to them, and went so far as to fall in love with their eldest son. Returning to Greece a year later, Aelred began to paint the object of his secret desires in a series of paintings that depict the sun drenched Mediterranean lifestyle. Aelred Bartlett died in 2004 and the exhibition of his work at Adonis Art gallery is the first ever showing of his talented depictions of the male nude body. Aelred Barlett is on show at Adonis Art until Monday 1st September 2008.
