Alternative Fashion Week

Head to Spitalfields to see the next generation of designers emerge at Alternative Fashion Week. With catwalk shows exhibiting some of the most exciting, cutting edge fashion around, there should be plenty to keep trend spotters and style followers occupied during the five day festival.

Alternative Fashion Week
With over 60 design graduates and fashion designers showcasing their latest creations at Spitalfields Market, fashionistas will be able to feast their eyes on a wealth of on trend styles for the year to come. Fourteen designers will be exhibiting their work every day during lunchtime shows in Spitalfields, and there will be live music to accompany each show.

Eclectic talent
A number of brands will be looking to make a mark at Alternative Fashion Week, with original and recycled textiles featuring strongly. There's an emphasis on environmentally responsible and ethically sourced products and a range of different styles on show, from the edgy to the elegant.

Shop 'til you drop
Another feature of Alternative Fashion Week that trend setting fashionistas will not want to miss is the chance to pick up the latest clothes at the market that surrounds the catwalk from 11am - 5pm every day. Get your inspiration from the show and then shop for clothes, textiles and accessories to your heart's content for unique, creative new pieces for your wardrobe.

Free for all
Even if you don't feel like digging into your purse to buy some of the cutting edge clothes, jewellery and accessories on offer, there's still plenty of chances to satisfy your fashion cravings. The daily lunchtime fashion shows are free to attend, and over 10,000 people are expected to come to Spitalfields and check out all the designs on show throughout the week.

Alternative Fashion Week runs from Monday 16th April - Friday 20th April 2012. The catwalk shows and live music takes place every day from 1.15pm, and the market is open from 11am - 5pm.
