Taking place at the Hackney Empire, the Anne Frank exhibition London event is a memorial to the famous young diarist and other victims of the Holocaust.

Anne Frank + You
Exploring both the history of the Holocaust and the challenges facing racial and religious harmony in Britain today, the Anne Frank exhibition London event takes place over 60 years after the young girl's terrible death at Bergen-Belson concentration camp. Titled Anne Frank + You, the show returns to London after a two year absence and focuses on the themes of identity and moral choice.

Children welcome
Created by a team of specialists including the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam and Oscar winning director Jon Blair, the Anne Frank exhibition London event aims to serve as an essential starting point for young people to begin to learn and talk about the Holocaust. At the centre of the exhibition is the figure of Anne Frank, who died at Bergen-Belson death camp after arriving from Auschwitz at just 15 years old.

Exhibition highlights
One of the exhibits bound to attract attention from visitors of all ages is the almost full size replica of Anne's bedroom, where she spent 25 months in hiding before being discovered by the Nazis. Exhibitions by the Anne Frank Trust have been seen by almost 3 million people around the world to date, and the Anne Frank exhibition London event is bound to add to that number.

Contemporary issues
While celebrating the spirit and memory of Anne Frank, the exhibition also presents a series of contemporary issues that tie into the history of religious persecution and racial hatred. From racism in football to bullying and the plight of child soldiers, there are plenty of important issues to ponder.

Special exhibits
As well as the replica of Anne's room, the exhibition also includes an interactive virtual tour of the Secret Annexe in Amersterdam. The exhibition also includes film footage and photos that give visitors the chance to connect with Anne's short life.

Anne Frank + You, the Anne Frank exhibition London event, takes place at Hackney Empire 2: The Bullion Room (behind the main building) from Thursday 12th April - Thursday 3rd May 2012. Admission is free. This exhibition is recommended for ages 10+.
