Avatar Special Edition at IMAX

See an extra 8 minutes of James Cameron's record breaking blockbuster at the Avatar Special Edition at IMAX screenings. Showing on the biggest screen in the UK in glorious 3D, the specially extended edition lets you see even more of the world of Pandora.

Extended edition
Featuring an extra 8 minutes of footage with new action scenes and new creatures, the screenings of the Avatar Special Edition at IMAX are likely to be a hit with die hard fans of the epic fantasy adventure who have already seen the film but want to relive all the action and drama. Newcomers to the world of Pandora also have the chance to see a longer version of the film that was originally released back in December 2009.

3D film
Released exclusively in 3D, the Avatar Special Edition at IMAX screenings take place alongside screenings at cinemas around the country. The state of the art cinema is showing the 3D film on their huge screen, which measures over 20 metres high and 26 metres wide.

The story
Taking you back to the moon Pandora once more, the Avatar Special Edition at IMAX follows the story of paraplegic Marine Jake Sully, who accepts a mission to infiltrate the humanoid Na'Vi people using an avatar identity. When Jake starts to bond with the alien tribe and falls in love with the beautiful Neytiri, he begins to question the morality of the human mission to mine the Na'Vi's idyllic home, and joins the aliens in a fight to preserve their civilisation.
