I recently visited Awana with a couple friends. We'd heard great things about the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. The staff were friendly and on the ball and looked after us from our cocktails in the bar area to our deserts. The food was to die for and I thoroughly enjoyed the seafood. Watching the chef make the Malaysian bread was very impressive.

We found the atmosphere at Awana warm and relaxing. It was a wonderful evening and we will deinitely be going back.

The service at Awana was excellent - the staff were helpful but not pushy. The food could have been tastier, however Awanas Lemongrass and Chilli Sorbet is probably worth going back for.

I totally disagree with the previous review. The staff at Awana treated myself and my partner with such respect that I can't believe they would ever be pushy. I have eaten at Awana before and never found this to be the case.

I recently had the pleasure of sampling Awana's food again at the Malaysian event in Covent Garden and it was just as good as I always remembered. Top stuff guys - keep up the great work!

I took 2 guests for dinner. Sister restaurant, Mango Tree, was fully booked on that Friday night so took the advice of their home page and tried Awana. The place was almost empty, the service was reasonable but a bit too pushy, the food (we took the tasting menu) was boring with the exception of one coconut dish and in such small quantities that we left Awana hungry and unsatisfied.

My wife and I go out quite a bit and we decided to try Awana for dinner recently. This is probably the most exciting concept I have seen for quite some time and is now my new favourite place.

The restaurant was quite busy that evening and we tried a cocktail at the bar (actually two!), they do this amazing hibiscus champagne cocktail that actually has a flower in it. We moved on to a banquette table in the restaurant and had a selection of satay skewers (the lamb and cuttlefish are to die for) and malaysian bread (very impressive to watch the chef making it from the satay bar). There are a lot of items grilled and the curries are very nice too. I can only hope all the desserts are as good as the only one we tried, the Black sticky rice is hard to share.

The menu at Awana is not so easy to understand but the staff are really helpful and lovely. They seemed to be advertising Malaysia in the restaurant and it may well have given my wife some ideas about our next holiday. Fantastic experience!

We tried the set lunch menu at Awana and found it to be value for money. The chef had been thoughtful to create an adventurous set that allowed us to try as many dishes as possible on the main menu.

Seeing that Malaysian cuisine was new to most of us, it was a real treat. The staff at Awana were friendly and helpful. Overall the atmosphere was relaxing and very comfortable. We will definitely visit again.
