Went to Bam-Bou last night with a group of friends. The bill was £150 per couple, but that did include a reasonable amount of wine maybe a couple of cocktails from the dark, atmospheric cocktail bar.

The set menu did allow a broad sampling of many different flavours and different types of meat and vegetables, as well as quite innovative deserts (including a perfect creme brulee!)
Overall the food at Bam-Bou was very good but not really amazing. I couldn't help feeling somewhat disappointed given the price. The decor at Bam-Bou is fabulous though and the place feels very exclusive. We had our own room and reasonably attentive waiters, but for the same money, I think you can do quite a bit better.

Only consider Bam-Bou if you need a very atmospheric place for private dining and don't mind if the food is a little below par. Just don't order too many cocktails.

Bam-Bou is great if you want to eat out but don't want to roll away from the table, your stomach coated in grease. Bam-Bou has loads of healthy options - lots of steamed veggies and rice and yummy mango creme brulee for dessert. Excellent.

This bar is trying to be a classy club but is a complete shower. You will not get your money's worth and I really wouldn't bother. The decor is lovely, BUT! You have to use table service but you don't get a waiter designated to you. The waiters do not check you are alright or whether you need anything and try to avoid serving you. The place was almost empty when we arrived. We waited half an hour before we got a glass of wine and two hours before our bar snacks arrived; and this was only because we reminded a waiter after we managed to flag him down (with some difficulty) as he passed. The food was watery and tasted of cardboard and we felt just as hungry after eating it as before! The waiters try to avoid giving you your change, they have no idea about what the food on the menu is or about the wine they are serving. Waiters tried to pour dry white wine into glasses of sweet chardonnay and seemed totally confused when I said "please don't mix our wines." The waiters put our wine in the wine cooler belonging to the people next to us whom we do not know (switching their empty bottle for our full one) and this led to someone drinking a whole bottle of our wine by mistake (we thought it was theirs too and were wondering where our bottle was)! These people were very embarrassed and kindly gave us the money for the wine (which is nice, 'basic' wine but priced well above its catagory), but only after the waiters and the manager were extremely rude to us all. DON'T GO HERE, IT'S THE WORST BAR I'VE EVER BEEN TO AND I GO OUT A LOT!!!!!
