See art by Banksy at Selfridges in May as the department store hosts Urban Art, an exclusive preview of urban artworks due to go on sale at an auction in Shoreditch. Alongside many other talented urban artists, the pictures by Banksy at Selfridges will form part of an amazing show that will be a big draw for fans of the notorious graffiti artist.

147 works of urban art are due to show at the exhibition by Banksy at Selfridges, with contributers including new, unseen and rare pieces. Highlights from the show include works from Adam Neate, Nick Walker and Goldie, the DJ and filmstar, along with many famous Banksy works.

Even though graffiti or urban art is relevatively new to the auction market, this doesn't mean that the estimated prices are any lower than for more classical or standard contemportary art. Amongst the most expensive works by Banksy at Selfridges are Portrait of an Artist, which is estimated to go for £150,00 to £200,000; Glastonbury Sign, which has an estimate of £30,000 to £50,000; and Laugh Now, the iconic monkey with antennas which could go for anything up to £50,000 at Dreweatts sale.

There are many other artists showing their work at the Urban Art exhibition at Selfridges, whose street art is just as memorable as Banksy. You may not know their faces but their images will be instantly recognisable: Blek le Rat whose exhibition, whose solo show is running until the end of May, is famous for inspiring Banksy with his black rat tag, and Dr D has produced a yellow version of his famous I Don't Feel logo, which will be on sale exclusively in Selfridges during the exhibition.

Other works by Adam Koukoudakis, Mr Jago, Eelus, Cyclops and Mau Mau, Micallef and Inkie are also on show with Banksy at Selfridges for the two week exhibition, making this a thrilling prospect for anyone who loves Banksy and urban art in general. Sure to catch many casual shoppers eyes and attract many from the art business too, this is your chance to see yet more clever and politically aware street art inside one of the most famous buildings in London, rather than on its outside walls.

Urban Art, the exhibition by street artists including, Banksy at Selfridges will run until the 1st June. The work will then be auctioned by Dreweatts at The Village Underground, Shoreditch on the 17th June 2008.
