An unofficial Banksy book launch takes place at Cargo on Thursday 3rd April, adding even more
interest to the camera shy street artist. Having grown up in and decorated his home town of
Bristol before moving onto London, the Banksy book launch celebrates the release of Banksy's
Britsol, Home Sweet Home.
Written by Steve Wright, this is the first unofficial biography of the iconic Banksy, whose art and
iconic images have captured the imagination of not just London, but the whole country over the
past few years. With his canvases selling for thousands of pounds to celebrities and collectors,
Banksy is topping the artistic hit list with his contentious and creative works.
You've seen the images all over London, and now you can read all about the man behind them.
Told through the eyes of those that know him well, the new Banksy book includes opinions from
Banksy's friends and early collaborators in Bristol. Showcasing many of Banksy's works that
have never been seen before, Home Sweet Home is set to be a number one bestseller with those
that love his particular brand of graffiti street art.
He may have sold for thousands, set up his own ghetto art shop and been the star of the show at
the recent Bonhams auction, but Banksy is still very much an enigma on the art scene. But if
you head to the Banksy book launch at Cargo in April, you may get the chance to meet some of
his closet collaborators.
Creating live art on the evening of the Banksy book launch is Inkie, a fellow street artists and one
of the long term collaborators with the Bristol born street artist. Inkie will be putting pen to paper,
or paint to wall on the night, and creating hot new graffiti art along with the likes of Cheba and
Lokey, who are also fellow Bristolians.
So head down to Cargo on Thursday 3rd April for a night of street art and cool music courtesy of the Banksy book launch, and who knows, the man himself may even put in an appearance.
