Had a brutal night out here on a Friday. No queue outside around 130am (should have tipped us off). They charge a cover of 6 quid which would be fine if the place wasn't a total dump when you get inside. Smells like a toilet, they serve crappy drinks in plastic cups and there is nowhere to put down your stuff to have a dance. The crowd was unfriendly and way too pushy. Music was very stop and start and pretty inconsistent. Won't be coming here again.

I saw Steve Hewitt's (ex placebo drummer) band Love Amongst Ruin here last week and I loved the venue. Very intimate. And the staff were friendly.

It was just a beautiful night shared with Love Amongst Ruin at their debut UK gig and i think they picked the perfect venue for it. It's really whetted my appetite for their next gig at Scala, London on 9 June.

One of the most best intimate live venues in London.

I have seen the AMAZING My Echo here before at the venue.

Can't wait to see them again on Sat 5th September. This place allways puts on bands on the way - up.

Great venue - Great acts.Sindy

The Barfly has been refurbished over the last few months and is now one of the best Clubs in Camden.

Upstairs is now curtained in black with LED lighting which has got rid of its slightly grotty image it used to have.

Downstairs has been transformed with loads of lighting and a big screen into a very cool DJ club bar.

The bar is free in the afternoons and weekdays but on weekends it is better to pay an entry charge to get into the gig which also gets you into the club and gives you two nights out for the price of one which is what I always do.

My favourite night is the Casino Royale night on Saturdays and the Heroes night on Thursdays. Both are great fun with a mix of jump around music.

When you arrive early enough to a bar that they are not doing a cover charge it is great - not so great if you go outside for a cigarette and you are told to leave your drink inside (in it's delightful plastic cup) and then when you attempt to go back in they try to sting you for the cover charge - well cheeky and enough to make you turn your back and head else where (which we did).

If your looking for the coolest place to check out good live music then get yourself down to Barfly. It attracts cool up and coming bands and the crowd is always appreciative of good music, so if your into your live stuff you'll fit right in. From the outside it looks like a bit of a dump, but don't let that fool you, your 100 per cent guaranteed to have a good night once your inside. Once you've had your fill of live music upstairs you can head down for a live DJ set to cap the night off with a few classics! I saw the Courteeners there a while back and they rocked the place, just bought myself tickets for the Datsuns in September, cant wait, bring it on Barfly! The only reason for a 4 rather than 5 is the price of drinks, but with the calibre of music it shouldn't take you long to get moving!

aaaah home sweet home! yes its a crap hole of a venue, but no place tops this gaff for good old let it all hang out rock n roll disco's.

I attend probably once every three months, and always leave feeling elated having danced my arse off with the rest of the club.

Come on, where else could you dance hard to the prodigy followed by kiki dee n elton john.

dont wear decent shoes, they will get mullered.

a let it all go, stress busting evening garunteed!

Go to the Barfly as long as you don't mind urine dripping from two closed overflowing toilets, rude door staff, warm beer and one appalling sound system. I went last week to see the rather amazing Orphans and Vandals, and whilst we expected the place to be a bit grotty, nothing could of prepared us for the actual horror this gaff has turned into. Owned by a string of bankers, it's time they invested some love and money back into this shit hole.

Barfly Camden is terrific as a venue, lousy as a pub. Plastic glasses, no Guiness and only crappy Worthington bitter.

Plastic glasses for the watery lager and £3.00 a pint. The Barfly Camden people need to get it into their heads that it is not okay to treat an audience like a heard of sheep and that seeing a band and enjoying a decent pint and good service don't have to be mutually exclusive.

Barfly Camden rocks - go to this place! Everyone is friendly and cool, they play wicked music eg this Friday a band called MY TWENTY ONE GRAMS are playing who are wicked. They have got a really funky, upbeat, rocking sound. I have seen this band a few times around London and they are going to be massive in my opinion. Don't miss checking them out at Barfly Camden. Peace.
