The screening of Batman at IMAX is set to be the biggest film event of the year, as the sequel to Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins hits Britain's biggest screen. Already much anticipated, the showing of Batman at IMAX has seen even more hype surround it since the death of one of its stars, Heath Ledger in January.
Certain to be one of the largest grossing films of 2008, preview tickets for the screening of the new Batman at IMAX were already at 28,500 days before the film was released, meaning extra film screenings at 2.30am and 5.30am have been added into the IMAX schedule to cope with the massive demand.
Since the accidental death of Heath Ledger by overdose earlier on in the year, the film that has been on everyone's lips is the Dark Knight, with many wondering if he will receive a posthumous Oscar for his part as the evil Joker. Mind blowing special effects were filmed especially for the eight stories high BFI IMAX screen, giving the Dark Knight an extra edge. With a stunning cast, amazing cinematography, and a great deal of hype surrounding it, the screening of the new Batman film on the is sure to be on the agendea of many a comic book film fan over summer.
Following on from Batman Begins with Christian Bale as the Dark Knight himself, and starring Heath Ledger as the Joker, the new Batman film features amazing shots that were made specifically to be seen on the enormous IMAX screen.
