With jaw dropping stunts, pyrotechnics, video screen sequences and special effects galore coming to the capital in the form of Batman Live, London fans of The Dark Knight are in for a real treat.

Worldwide arena tour
British audiences will be amongst the first to see the brand new live action show when it tours arenas in Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield, Birmingham, Liverpool and Nottingham, with the Batman Live London show coming to the capital over the summer of 2011. The O2 Arena are hosting the London leg of the show, which takes place within the dark and dramatic universe created by DC Comics.

History of The Caped Crusader
First created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger way back in 1939, Batman's image has evolved and been reinterpreted a number of times in the decades since. From the camp 1960s TV spoof starring Adam West to Christopher Nolan's dark and often brutal films starring Christian Bale, there should be plenty of inspiration for the makers of the Batman Live London shows to draw on.

Famous characters
As well as the central character of The Dark Knight himself, the Batman Live London shows also feature his loyal sidekick Robin and faithful butler Alfred. Some of the most charismatic villains from the Batman universe will also be making an appearance, including The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman and The Penguin.

Brand new story
The shows feature a specially commissioned, brand new storyline, with key events taking place in recognisable settings such as Gotham City, Wayne Manor, the Batcave and Arkham Asylum. Batman Live features impressive stunts, circus acts, pyrotechnics, illusions and video screen sequences aimed to appeal to adult fans, teenagers and families alike.

The Batman Live London shows run from Wednesday 24th August - Sunday 4th September 2011. Tickets cost £20.00 - £35.00, and go on sale on Friday 12th November 2010. For more information and to purchase tickets, click on the Buy Tickets button.
