My hen party was held here in August 2011 and what a cracking time!! Everytbody thoroughly enjoyed themselves and would go back again.

Special thanks goes to Alex who was a great sport all night.

Only suggestion I would make is to get a real oompha band in!!

The Bavarian Beerhouse is a great place to celebrate a Christmas party. My colleagues and I had our Christmas party there and we had an amazing time. We pre-ordered food from the Christmas menu and reserved a table. At arrival each person got a welcome drink and a Christmas cracker. The food was served on big platters and we tried the typical German sausages with mash potatoes and sauerkraut! We really loved the big beer glasses so called steins! Later on the waitresses were singing and dancing with us it was a great night! I will definitely come back with a few friends of mine! Pit

Not hugely impressed.

Had to pay £14.50 to get in which included an £8 'stein', but what the hell was the other £6.50 for? Apparently it was for the 'entertainment', which consisted of two guys on an accordion and guitar who sang 5 songs in total. I was expecting a proper 'oompah' band with tuba etc but instead our 'entrance fee' went on playing terrible europop at volumes which made conversing impossible.

The pils was relatively decent and the food, whilst not particularly amazing was reasonably priced and perfectly accompanied the massive beers!

Bit of a different night out but nowhere near the atmosphere I was hoping for (the crappy decor could go a long way to explaining that) Not somewhere I would bother paying to enter again.

Going to try the real Oktoberfest instead next year

I've been to the Beerhouse with a couple of mates last weekend and we really enjoyed our time being there. We loved the atmosphere, the Bavarian food and the charming service. You will find nowhere else in this city an exclusive waitress service as we had in this venue. Moreover, they brought the Oktoberfest from Munich to England and on top of that Bavarian musicians have been performing and entertaining us. I still have a hoarse voice.

A group of friends and I went to the Beerhouse last year in August. We were given the wrong kitchen times which resulted in costly cabs and running around trying to book an alternative at 10pm - not to mention the embarrassment.

Suffice to say we were not amused and asked for a reduction in the rediculously expensive bill handed to us.

A stand-off followed resulting in the police being called as we were rounded up like criminals.

The customer service was not good at all - a little understanding and a token £20 off the £200 bill (not to mention the additional £70 cab fare) would have gone a long way.

Relating to the food - the only food we had were a couple of snack starters - which were dire. Drinks over priced. Service poor.

All in all a very bad experience. Stay well away.

Comment from the Bavarian Beerhouse:It is quite surprising to read this negative comment.

The group visited the Bavarian Beerhouse in August 2008,they made a lot of trouble and even threatened members of staff – the police had to come and asked them to leave ASAP.

They refused to pay their bill. (Who spends £200 if you do not like the place?.. anyway..).

It was taken to court and the case was won. After being forced by law to pay the outstanding amount in March 2009 Bavarian Beerhouse is now receiving “bad reviews” in the Internet.

Quite shameful!

I went to the Bavarian Beerhouse last night and had a fab time! The waitresses were always smiling, despite the fact the place was rather dramatic to say the least.

The atmosphere was fantastic and I really felt invited to contribute-by the end even I ( a rather shy individual) was persuaded to sing along with the locals, 'stein' ( 1 litre glass) of beer in one hand and pretzel in the other!

The food wasn't the cheapest in london, but certainly filled me up and tasted really good. I recommend the schnitzel for something different and unique to German/ Austrian restaurants, but I also enjoyed my girlfriend's cheese noodle thing I can't remember the name of !

I expected the Bavarian Beerhouse to be somewhat of a commodity that shouldn;t be that good of a place, but am really feeling like this is the start of a beutiful relationship with the place!I have never actually been to a bar in London where English people are seen really 'letting go' and not worrying about looking trendy, hip or sexy ( that's not to say there arn't sexy people there, my girlfriend actually caught me admiring a certain waitress and her, ach-hmm, cleveage) it's simply a place for people of all nationaliities to have fun.

The beer is much better than English beer too. I ended up trying most of them on the night, and personally thought the Lowenbrau was the best ( much nicer than in cans from the corner shop!)I would not recommend the Bavarian Beerhouse on the weekend to couples over 80 who wish to attend a quiet place for a glass of wine- it's just not that kind of place, but if you're under 80 and not looking for a boring and quiet place to waste away then I can't recommend it more!

The only reason I gave this dire hole 1 star was because there was no option to bestow upon it its rightful mark of "no stars". The novelty of the 2 pint jugs of beer wears thin when you are left with a great deal more warm flat piss than you would have in a standard pint glass. Their version of mulled wine was foul and served in a chipped tea cup. Authenticity-wise, I sincerely hope that the real German Alehouses are as far removed from this horrific pit as is humanly possible.Staff seemed ok, if a little unattractive - not the svelte lederhosen clad fraulein of the promotional pictures. It never bodes well for a place when the clientele are the biggest load of scrotes i have ever had the extreme misfortune to encounter.

Upon entering the room well lit like a old bags tea room, filled with as many picnic tables as they could muster, probably from the local "factory seconds" shop, we were greeted with the sight of some disgraceful waster vomming all over his table. No effort was made to kick him out or even clean up his slurry.By far the worst drinking experience i've ever had in london.

No positives to mention whatsoever.Having noticed a few 5 star review for this place I can only assume these are tongue in cheek, if not then I sincerely pity these poor folk who are yet to eek out the more civilised fun and clean london venues.

Perhaps if they opened a Bavarian Beerhouse in Guantanamo Bay the convicts would be far quicker in admitting their crimes as I can only imagine that the conditions in which they are currently kept is probably far more sanitary and pleasant than the interior of the Bavarian Beerhouse.

As has been commented, beer very expensive. Full of drunken yobs after 10pm...not a classy venue, and not recommended for work parties, unless you enjoy stepping through vomit on your way out! I am surprised at the positive reviews, are they for real?

The Bavarian Beerhouse has great beer and great service. It is a fantastic place for a work night out, however, be warned - the Bavarian Beerhouse food is fairly rubbish but that is what I would expect from mass catering.

We had a big company party at the Bavarian Beerhouse two weeks ago, and dind't regret it. I don't understand why people complain about the service. The girls were great, the food was brilliant, and of course the German beer is the best. Everyone had a great time and we will visit the Bavarian Beerhouse again. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

As a lot of other reviewers have pointed out, the service at Bavarian Beerhouse is terrible. With the addition of the rudest mangers, I would recommend that everyone go anywhere but here. Try Belgo Nord if you like your beer and good atmosphere in North London.

Nobody from our party of 15 manged to eat their meal at the same time as anybody else, and one meal arrived a good 30 minutes before anybody elses. Two meals didn't arrive at all even after giving the waitress the chance to rectify the situation.

The whole hellish afair was further compounded by the rudest management Ive ever had the displeasure of meeting. The owner of Bavarian Beerhouse even refused me a simple apology.

Typical German hospitality: the customer is always wrong. Bavarian Beerhouse has frozen potatoes, rude service and reheated food and dare he complain! The biggest consolation is that at current rate Bavarian Beerhouse will not be around for long.

Bavarian Beerhouse is awful. Booked my birthday at Bavarian Beerhouse for myself and 50 friends. We were stuck in a dingy back room with a broken light, some people waited over 30 mins to get served and they mixed up all the orders. There was only one poor overworked waitress allocated to our area and she just couldn't cope.

The payment was really stressful as well - the waitress was not collecting money from people as they ordered, and put it on my card instead - after reppeatedly being asked not to. Complained to the manager, and they took some money off my bill - but still not worth it. Ruined my birthday - avoid this awful place at all costs!

I must admit I visited the Bavarian Beerhouse with trepidation, expecting to be confronted by rowdy Germans enthusiastically singing along to David Hasselhoff. Instead, visitors are confronted by a slightly surreal, unique and enjoyable experience. This basement bar has ample seating and 3 entertaining spaces, one which doubles up as a DJ/dancing area, with German beer and food freely flowing. It's a bit pricey, but like German cars, you do get quality for that price. The service is charming and efficient, all wrapped up in the traditional German maiden costumes, which I'm sure is enough for most people...

The Bavarian Beerhouse is obviously quite popular, judging by how busy it was on a Friday night: there was a real mix of people there: office workers, students, Germans, and locals. It was also fairly rowdy and noisy, with the party atmosphere reaching fever pitch when the DJ played '3 lions'! Definitely a place to visit, and it's one of those places I can see getting anything from 2-5 stars depending what you're like. I'm giving it a 3 because, while there's much to admire it's a bit in your face - like a BMW, I'm more of an Audi man personally.

Jolly good beer they do at the Bavarian Beerhouse. Surprising considering their name, I was so surprised that I drank too much beer in my delight. The Bavarian Beerhouse is monster.

I went to the Bavarian Beerhouse and I think it's good. To be honest, all I remember at the Bavarian Beerhouse is the beer which, judging by the amount I consumed, must be good!
