A chance for hundreds of young people to get involved with some serious art work this weekend, the BBC Blast at Serpentine Gallery is part of the BBC Blast on tour, an event that travels the country encouraging people to get creative.

A four day festival of arts and creative workshops take place at the Serpentine Gallery inviting people aged 13 to 19 to work with artists, scientists, designers and people from the BBC to share their creativity and make some amazing art. From fashion to dance, and VJing to filmmaking, the BBC Blast at Serpentine Gallery is a chance for young people to make a statement about art and perhaps inspire them on to bigger and better things.

Artists like Antony Gormley, Jake and Dinos Chapman and Zaha Hadid will be on hand offering advice and sharing tips on their areas of artistic expertise. Kids can get involved with hip hop and drama workshops, create musical scores with the help of a BBC Asian network DJ, create animation films, learn how to be a journalist and make large scale digital portraits and soundscapes of the festival, all for free!

At the end of Saturday and Sunday the work that has been created throughout the BBC Blast at Serpentine Gallery will be displayed in a showcase of orginal art and talent. Performances of art, fashion and music take place in the gallery from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday 21st July and from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday 22nd July, both of which are free to attend.
