Throughout the London Festival of Architecture you can take a peek behind the scenes at British Library as the tour takes members of the public around the building. Restoring books, repairing ancient manuscripts and replacing gold leaves on titles, the British Library team use natural resources and painstaking methods to preserve these literary objects for future generations. In the reading rooms, dedicated staff hunt for book for academics and journalists, and down in the stacks, a copy of every book published in English is filed away for future reference by the hugely knowledgable librarians. A unique insight into the workings behind the scenes at British Library, these tours are a fascination way to spend an hour.

Tours of the British Library take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 3pm, on Saturdays at 10:3am and 3pm, and 11:30am and 3pm on Sundays.
