Whats On
With what’s now an unprecedented haul of medals for us Brits, the mayor has announced there will be a Beijing Olympics heroes parade to celebrate their success.

Victory parade through the streets
Taking place through the streets of London, the Beijing Olympics heroes parade will see Team GB welcomed home by the public, offering us Londoners the chance to show our appreciation for their efforts. Although the route is yet to be confirmed, the victory parade looks set to take over a large number of the London streets, ensuring that everyone gets to welcome them home with a cheer.

Beijing Olympic heroes
Set to take place on the London streets in October, the Beijing Olympics heroes parade will no doubt be a huge celebration where we can show how proud we are that the British Olympians made us Brits great again. The Olympics have reignited our interest in a host of different sports and games - in perfect time for 2012 – and the Beijing Olympics heroes parade will offer us the perfect opportunity to welcome home all the stars of the games in true British style.

British winners celebrated
The Beijing Olympics have been the most successful in our history, showing the world that we have some of the most talented sports stars on the planet. With Olympics fever having firmly taken over the nation, the heroes parade will no doubt bring out an army of supporters to the streets, keen to celebrate our success. You will also be able to welcome home the equally successful paralympians, ensuring that every single one of our Olympic heroes will be welcomed home in suitable style.

Olympic parade route
The parade is set to start at the front of Mansion House at 11am, where athletes will wow the crowds on a series of floats down Queen Victoria Street, past St Pauls Cathedral. Heading down Fleet Street and down the Strand, you will be able to cheer them on as they pass. The first float to arrive at Trafalgar Square will be around 12.30pm, where you can see all your favourite sporting heroes in person. The athletes will then assemble on the north terrace at 1.15pm, to wave at the crowds and show off their fantastic collection of gold, silver and bronze Olympic medals.

The Beijing Olympics heroes parade will take place through the streets of London on 16th October 2008, leaving at Mansion House at 11am and ending at Trafalgar Square at 12.30pm.
