Ben Hur Live London

The Ben Hur Live London show hits the O2 Arena in September 2009 and is set to be the monumental show of the year. Renowned for putting on big, exciting shows unlike any other venue in the city, this time the O2 Arena is topping its bill with a 400 performer show, that includes 100 animals and a breakneck chariot race.

Set to pull in the crowds with this epic show, the Ben Hur Live London event comes to the O2 Arena in the same year as the classic film celebrates its 50th birthday. Renowned for starring the barrel chested Charlton Heston, the film was based on the novel by Lew Wallace and caused much the same stir at the cinemas in the 50s as the Ben Hur Live show is certain to do in 2009.

An epic show
Bringing to life the epic story of the Jewish Prince Judah Ben Hur, the event will use all kinds of breathtaking special effects to take the audience on a trip back in time to the days of Christ. With light, water, wind and pyrotechnic effects all creating a majestic desert landscape, the Ben Hur Live London show is sure to be a modern day marvel of live action animal and human performance.

Live action
Combining over hundreds of actors and animals, the show is certainly not on the small scale. Following on from the success of the O2 Monumental show, Carmina Burana, whose ticket sales were so popular another date was added to the bill, the Ben Hur Live London performance will be unlike anything else you can see during 2009. The highlight of the entire epic event will no doubt be the chariot race which was famously one of the most exciting scenes from the 1950s film. Five quadrigas and a team of highly trained thoroughbred horses will race around the arena in a thrilling sequence that will have the audience holding their breath.
