Whether it’s the famous chariot race, the huge sea battles, Arabian bazaars, huge gladiatorial battles or the ancient Circus Maximus, Ben Hur Live will bring the legendary film starring Charlton Heston vividly to life.

Talent behind the scenes
Ben Hur Live has been fifteen years in the making and features some stellar talent behind the scenes. Originally conceived by German producer Franz Abraham, Ben Hur Live boasts music composed by Klauss Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean and Gladiator), direction from Philip McKinley (The Wizard of Oz and Hair, Broadway) writing from Shaun McKenna (The Lord of the Rings, West End), with the whole affair being designed by acclaimed choreographer of the Olympics ceremonies in Beijing, Mark Fisher.

Iconic film
Ben Hur Live will coincide with the 50th anniversary of Ben Hur the film, enjoying its world premiere at the O2 Arena on Tuesday 15th September 2009. The original film starred Hollywood icon Charles Heston and won a record eleven Academy Awards, including Best Motion Picture, Best Director and Best Leading Actor for Heston. The film remains a favourite for many film fans and Ben Hur Live looks set to be hugely popular too, thanks to an intoxicating mix of storyline, spectacle, live theatre and stellar behind-the-scenes talent.
