Best of Boroughs Film Screenings

The Best of Boroughs film screenings takes place at BFI Southbank at the beginning of June including, all six of the shorts that have been nominated for the awards. 41 films will be screened in all, taken from 16 boroughs in London and providing you with an opportunity to see what the filmmakers of the capital can do.

Taking place at the BFI Southbank cinema on 2nd June 2008, the Best of Boroughs film screenings give the filmmakers a chance to screen their work to the public and other film industry people. Film London in conjunction with iTV Local and all the boroughs are offering two prizes of £2,000 each to the best films to be screened, one of which will be voted for by the public and one chosen by the Best of Boroughs panel.

Short films from all over London will give you an amazing opportunity to see your home ground on the big screen. Tower Hamlets, Camden, Hackney, Westminster, Enfield, Southwark and Barking are just some of the boroughs you can see during the Best of Boroughs film screenings. From around Lambeth way? Check out Southern Exposure, which has short films from Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark. Camden and Islington feature in Without Limits and Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney feature in the New Pathways selection.

On the day, you can see the best of the bunch, take part in panel discussions and hear the announcement of the six short listed films that will go through to the Best of Boroughs final.
