Better Bankside Pancake Day Race

Head to the Better Bankside Pancake Day Race to see teams of expert pancake tossers do their bit for charity on Shrove Tuesday.

Taking place within Borough Market's Jubilee Market, the Better Bankside Pancake Day Race is an annual charity event which sees teams compete in an unusual relay race. Not only do the competitors need to out-run their opponents, they also need to do so while flipping a pancake in a frying pan at the same time.

Shrove Tuesday fun
Continuing the tradition of holding pancake flipping races on Shrove Tuesday, the Better Bankside Pancake Day Race should bring a smile to many a spectator's face. The event consists of five heats, which sees teams race along Jubilee Market before a final winners' race decides the victorious team.

Pancake Day London

The Better Bankside Pancake Day Race starts 12pm, Tuesday 21st February 2012. It is free to watch the races.

To sign up and take part in the race, email ah@betterbankside.co.uk with the name of your team, your company's name, and the name and contact details of team leader. There is a suggested donation of £20.00 per team, with money raised going to the Paintings in Hospitals charity.
