Big Draw at St Pancras International

The Big Draw at St Pancras International will take on the theme of Transports of Delight as a week of free drawing events takes inspiration from the new Eurostar station. With walk and draw tours, and a chance to see two great cartoonists in draw offs, there will be plenty of exciting drawing events taking place.

The Walk and Draw tours will be one of the highlights of the week of Big Draw at St Pancras International as architectural and engineering experts invite you to take a closer look at the station. You will also learn how to animate and storyboard your journey around the station. Perspective, composition and visualisation will all be covered in the drawing sessions, and at the end of the tour, you will be the proud owner of your own depiction of the fantastic architectural structure.

Free workshops also take place during the Big Draw at St Pancras International, lead by Alistair Lansley who managed the station's redevelopment will see him sharing his unique view of the building. Joining in the Big Draw celebrations at the station, he will be showing visitors his archival images from the V&A collection, giving you a fascination insight into the historical perspective.

London schools are invited to take guided tours of the station from architectural students and engineers, and they will also be invited to take part in a competition that asks them to design the stations and the transport systems of the future. Involving all kinds of drawing, Big Draw week will culminate with a day of free cartooning workshops on Saturday 18th October. Free workshops will run all day from 10am to 5pm, where you can learn the art of satire, cartoon strips, and face sketching.

Caricaturists from the Professional Cartoonists Organisation will be on hand throughout the day to give advice on drawing and on humorous content, and the highlight of the events for Big Draw at St Pancras International will be the battle between two national newspaper cartoonists as they spend two hours creating the most sensational banners.
