The Big Draw London event is back and inviting anyone and everyone to get creative with a whole month of arty activities. With the Big Draw taking place in so many different locations throughout London, there is no excuse to not grab a pencil and start doodling.
Big Draw London 2008Kicking off with the Big Draw launch on Friday 26th September and running until the end of October, the Big Draw is bringing even more art and design style events to the capital to encourage both kids and adults to get drawing, and enjoy being creative. Having launched in 2000, more than a million people have now taken part in the Big Draw nationally, and London has been the location for two Big Draw world records.
Not just pencilsEvery year the Big Draw campaign gets more and more creative with their art mediums meaning that you can draw and create pictures with almost anything. Printing, mosaics, moviles, sandpainting, sgraffito, wire sculptures and fire drawing are just some of the amazing ways in which you and your kids can participate in loads of the Big Draw London events. Making cartoons, paintings, portraits, maps and illuminations are just of few of the ways in which you can put your artistic talents to use during the month.
Big Draw London launchTaking place over three days, the Big Draw launch at Wellcome Collection invites you to get arty with more than 40 events with animators, sculptors, neurologists and geneticists getting creative with the themes of science, life and art. With workshops for those feeling wobbly about their drawing skills and talks and performances to inspire you, there is plenty to get excited about. The Big Draw London launch takes place 7pm - 10pm, Friday 26th September, and 11am - 5pm Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th September.
Big Draw London eventsLoads of great venues are participating in the Big Draw campaign once again for 2008 meaning there will certainly be plenty of events and activities near you. Head to St Pancras International on Saturday 11th and 18th October for a chance to walk and draw with top architects and engineers. Cartoonists from national papers will also be having a two hours battle to create the most sensational banner on Saturday 18th October. The British Library will be rounding off the festival of drawing with The Big Picture Party on Monday 27th October with a chance to meet Quentin Blake and a whole host of other illustrators, authors and performers.
