Charity event
With live music, pop up restaurants, a funfair for the kids and even a Romany inspired cafe garden serving hot and refreshing cups of tea, the Big Feastival London event is bound to be a popular addition to the lineup of boutique festivals in the city over the summer of 2011. Better yet, the money raised from tickets will be donated to The Prince's Trust and The Jamie Oliver Foundation, two charities that strive to provide support and opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Live music
Acts already confirmed to take part in the Big Feastival London event include Soul II Soul, Roots Manuva, The Charlatans and The Mystery Jets. Other bands providing the soundtrack to the summer festival include Athlete, Guillemots and The Bees.
Fun for foodies
With a shared menu created by some of the biggest names in the restaurant business, foodies are in for a real treat at the Big Feastival. London bars and restaurants serving up signature dishes include Jamie Oliver and Adam Perry Lang's Barbecoa, as well as Benares, Cafe Spice Namaste, Canteen, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen and Wahaca.
Special events
Other special events and attractions taking place across the festival weekend on Clapham Common include The Big Kitchen area, where you can pick up some top cookery tips from the professionals, as well as the Little Dudes Den where children can try their hands at arts and crafts. New wave Womens Institute groups Shoreditch Sisters and Borough Belles will be manning the WI Tent, while all ages can take a trip on the Ferris wheel and waltzer at the traditional funfair.
The Big Feastival London event runs from Friday 1st July - Sunday 3rd July 2011 on Clapham Common. Opening hours are 2pm - 10.30pm Friday, 12pm - 10.30pm Saturday and 10am - 8pm Sunday.
