Big Issue Birthday Party

The Big Issue Birthday Party is taking place at The B Club in September, in a night of celebrity guests, literary recitals and birthday celebrations. Join the party and wish the Big Issue a happy 15th birthday in style.

Great Eastern Hotel

Celebrity literature
A line up of celebrity guests will be in attendance at the Big Issue Party, ready with original works of literature inspired by the lives of Big Issue vendors. Nick Hornby, Alexei Sayle, Will Self and Ali Smith will be reading their own works in an insightful, thought provoking series of live recitals.

Happy birthday
Established in 1991 the Big Issue celebrates its 15th birthday this year. Readers of the magazine can join in the celebrations at a unique, free event, inviting Londoners to rub shoulders with some of the country’s best literary personalities and say happy birthday in person.

Birthday fun at The B Club
The GE Club at The Great Eastern Hotel will be home to The B Club, one of London’s most popular literary nights. In addition to live readings there will be music and The B Club’s notorious book bingo game, promising fun and games on the night. Visitors can also hit the bar in between rounds for a casual drink or two.

The Big Issue Birthday Party at The B club takes place at The GE Club, Great Eastern Hotel, Liverpool Street on Thursday 14th September. The event runs from 8pm – 2am. Entry is free but places must be reserved in advance.
