Bird Club Queer Night

Head to the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club for the Bird Club queer night communist special. Bird Club is a recurring event which features burlesque, live music, and much more to celebrate the identity of the queer woman in all her glory, and also welcomes a whole host of transgender folk as well as radical ladies from the lesbian scene.

In the spirit of all traditional May Day revelry and spring time customs, the Bird Club queer night is holding a Communist Nite to give everyone on the queer and transgender spectrum the chance to party. Hosted by the Duckie and Transfabulous performer Bird la Bird, the Bird Club communist special also features special performances by Killpussy, Switch, and hip hop duo Project Caramel.

Live cabaret acts
Not to be outdone by all the guest stars, Bird la Bird will also be showcasing her new live act, with plenty of tongue in cheek sloganeering and original takes on Marxist texts. Alongside all the burlesque performances, DJ's will be on hand to deliver some dirty electro beats to get you shaking your tail feathers on the dance floor.

Dress to impress
Send yourself up for the communist special and have an affectionate laugh at the expense of the socialist movement at the same time. The Bird Club queer night special encourages an inventive dress code, so come as Red Rosa, or channel Marx, Engels, Trotsky, or simply as a heroic proletariat or peasant. With a host of talent to keep you entertained, the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club queer night is your chance to party the night away this May.

The Bird Club queer night communist special runs from 8pm to 2am on Thursday 14th May 2009. The performances start at 9.30pm.
