Body Worlds and Mirror of Time is the third of Dr Gunther von Hagens body plastination exhibitions, and it is another hugely fascinating show. Using his groundbreaking technique of plastinating parts of the human body to preserve them, Body Worlds and Mirror of Time takes you one step further in looking at the amazing feat of nature that is the body.

Previous shows
Bodies the Exhibition came to London in 2006, and the Body Slice at Wellcome Collection is an ongoing exhibit, so Body Worlds and Mirror of Time will no doubt be pulling in the fascinated punters as it fill up the exhibition space at the O2 Arena. Promising to be just as big a smash hit as the Tutankhamun show that preceded it, Dr Gunther's Body Worlds is sure to take the city by storm.

The passing of time
Examining the ways in which time affects the body, the brand new show from the world renowned anatomist features special presentations on the life cycle of the human being. Taking the living body from conception through to death, Body Worlds and Mirror of Time is a celebration of the wonders of the human body and its lifespan.

Anatomy on show
For those that have never seen the be-hatted German scientist or his amazing creations, the exhibits that form his Body Worlds shows are truly awe inspiring. Using the latest scientific technologies, Dr Gunther covers entires bodies, organs, muscles, bones, ligaments and anthing else you can find under your skin with an air tight layer of special plastic that perfectly preserves the specimen underneath.

Celebration of the human body
Although this may sound a little gruesome, all the bodies on show in the Body Worlds and Mirror of Time exhibition have been specifically donated to the scientific cause, which helps scientists better develop their understanding of the human body and the way in which it functions as it gets older. Looking at the effects of disease, distress and accidents on the aging body, the Body Worlds exhibition is a fascinating insight into the living, breathing human machine that we all posess.
