Get ready for Body Worlds at O2 as Dr Gunther von Hagens brings his third amazing installation to London. Full of his groundbreaking science exhibits, the exhibition of Body Worlds at O2 comes hot on the heels of Tutankhamun, the smash hit visitor attraction held at the arena in 2007 and 2008.

Anatomical exhibition
With old and mummified bodies proving to be a huge draw with Londoners, the exhibition of Body Worlds at O2 is sure to be just as successful. The difference between the two shows is that Body Worlds and the Mirror of Time features amazing preserved human and animal bodies that have been coated in plastic, rather than wrapped up in muslin.

Plastinated bodies
Using the latest scientific advancements Dr Gunther has created another series of fantastic body sculptures using parts of the human body, such as bone, tissue and ligaments, that have been plastinated. Perfectly preserved in their organic state, these are the kinds of things you can expect to see on display with Body Worlds at O2 Arena.

Huge show at the O2
The first Body Worlds exhibition came to Earls Court back in 2006, and Dr Gunther has since installed his body slices on permanent show at the Wellcome Collection. Having taken his unusual exhibitions all over the world, the premiere of his new show was unveiled at Body Worlds at O2 in the autumn of 2008, and will continue until August 2009.

Cradle to grave
Each of the Body Worlds shows has taken a difference aspect to its show, and for the new exhibition on show at the O2, the theme is all about the aging process and how it affects the human and animal body. Taking the journey of human life right from the start of conception up until death, Body Worlds and the Mirror of Time examines the effects that life has on the body, and how cells, bone, muscles, blood and skin all continues to change in an effort to help preserve and maintain life.

Scientific discoveries
Certain to be one of the most unusual and exciting exhibitions in London this year, Body Worlds at O2 also fulfills a very important scientific function. By alllowing Dr Gunther and his scientists access to these bodies that are specifically donated to his cause, the anatomist can learn valuable scientific lessons. Rather than dwell on the mortality of human life, the scientist hopes that everyone who visits the exhibition will be inspired by the amazing structure that is the body, and will take away a desire to live life to the full.

Body Worlds and the Mirror of Time is on show at O2 Arena from autumn 2008. To purchase Body Worlds at O2 tickets please follow the link below, click the Buy Tickets button or call 0870 4000 601.
