Bond Bound at Fleming Collection is an exhibition of James Bond novel covers that celebrates the centenary of Ian Fleming's birth in 2008. Alongside the major exhibition For Your Eyes Only at Imperial War Museum, the Bond Bound exhibition marks the anniversary by highlighting the James Bond books that are often neglected in favour of the films.

On show at the same time as the publication of the new James Bond novel, Devil May Care, which has been specially commissioned from Sebastian Faulks, Bond Bound looks back at the numerous novels that have been in print since the first one in 1953. Showing the different covers that have graced the Bond books since the early days of Casino Royale, the exhibition is a fascinating collection of images that span the life of the novels.

Charting the changing attitudes towards sex, women, art and design, the covers on show in Bond Bound at Fleming Collection reflect the changing times between the publication of Ian Fleming's first book, and the subsequent novels, right up until his death in 1964. Having gone through many incarnations, the covers of the Bond novels were also hugely influenced by the films and whoever may have been portraying the secret agent on the silver screen.

The great majority of the exhibition also looks at how designers and artists defined the look of Bond, and how they went about creating visual characteristics for the book covers. A fascinating show for any fan of the Bond novels or fims, Bond Bound at Fleming collection also includes designs for two more of Ian Fleming's books, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Thrilling Cities, his collected travel journalism.

Bond Bound at Fleming Collection is on show until the 28th June 2008.
