Book Slam at Shoreditch Town Hall

Enjoy a night of literary mayhem and live music at the book slam at Shoreditch Town Hall, part of a series of alternative nights out courtesy of the Red Bull Music Academy.

East London shenanigans
A literary night perfect for bookworms who are just too cool for school, the book slam at Shoreditch Town Hall explorers the world of cutting edge literature with the help of authors, poets, DJs, musicians and all round live performers. Meet award winning crime writer Dreda Say Mitchell at the event, who will be discussing her new novel Geexer Girls, and laugh out loud to stand up comedy from Doc Brown.

UK Grime
Also appearing at the Book Slam at Shoreditch Town Hall are members of UK Grime, who will be showing off their sharp and smart lyrics for your entertainment. Join Rinse, P-Money and Wariko, as well as poet and DJ Charlie Dark.

Live music
As well as all the literary delights and live poetry at the Red Bull Music Academy special event, the book slam at Shoreditch Town Hall also features music from accomplished Australian musician Sui Zhen. Drawing inspiration from Joni Mitchell, disco cellist Arthur Russell and everything inbetween, Sui Zhen will be showcasing her musical talents on the book slam stage.

The Red Bull Music Academy book slam at Shoreditch Town Hall takes place from 7pm - 11.30pm, Wednesday 10th February 2010. Tickets are £6.00 in advance and £8.00 on the door.
