Need to brush up on your intellectual side? Get your nerd on, club kid style, at the next Book Slam London.

Why you should go
Giving you the chance to expand your mind in the literary sense, Book Slam London is a monthly literary reading/club night where you’ll hear the latest and the hottest in both noise and words. Even though it has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, there’s guaranteed to be plenty of hip lit kids and indie rock fanatics vying for a space to see their literary heroes and hear some excellent music.

Cool bookworms
Never been to a reading? Don’t worry – instead of boring authors droning on, the Book Slam London event is more like a concert or a club night, with DJs, dancing and plenty of groupies waiting with bated breath to hear their literary idols. Expect a hodgepodge of poetry fans, students, media workers and clubbers looking for a new kind of night out.

Don’t miss
At the next Book Slam London event you’ll find American author James Sallis, who penned Drive and its sequel, Driven and has also translated the likes of Pasternak and Lermentov. There's also live music as well as DJ sets that champion '90s music.

Famous names
Previous performers include novelists DBC Pierre, Dave Eggers, Nick Hornby, Monica Ali, Hari Kunzru, Zadie Smith and Jonathan Safran Foer, spoken word artists Nafeesa, Zena Edwards, Polar Bear and Floetry and musicians including Adele, Mr Hudson, Plan B, Mike Ladd, Kate Nash, Mpho Skeef and Netsayi. Plenty of famous names to drop to all your mates, regardless of whether they like to read or rock out.

The next Book Slam London event takes place from 7.30pm on Thursday 31st May 2012 at The Tabernacle. Doors open at 6pm. Tickets are £8.00 in advance or £10.00 on the door. For more information and to buy tickets, click on the link below.
