BP Summer Screen at Canary Wharf

Opera and ballet lovers are in for a real treat with the BP Summer Screen at Canary Wharf, which is screening live performances beamed straight from the stage of the Royal Opera House.

Part of a series of free, open air screenings taking place across London and the UK, the BP Summer Screen at Canary Wharf in Canada Square is the perfect excuse to soak up some world class culture after work. Even better, the screenings are free to attend and open to all.

World class performances
The only screening to appear on the free BP Summer Screen at Canary Wharf this year is the Royal Ballet's performance of Metamorphosis: Titian 2012. A brand new ballet that has been created as part of London 2012, the show has made use of seven different choreographers, several new scores from British composers and stage designs from various leading contemporary artists, including the likes of Chris Ofili and Mark Wallinger. Inspired by the Titian paintings that hang in the National Gallery, the performance is sure to go down in history as a fascinating and unique event.

BP Summer Big Screens
Asides from the screening of Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 at Canary Wharf, there are more free BP summer screen events at Trafalgar Square this year. Fans of opera can see the transmitted performances of La Boheme and Falstaff live from the Royal Opera House on Thursday 17th and Wednesday 30th May respectively.
