Bushy Park is the second largest of the Royal Parks and covers an area of 450 hectares. It lies to the north of Hampton Court Palace and has a distinctly rural character.
The site on which Bushy Park sits has been settled for at least 4,000 years. There is clear evidence of the medieval field system with the most impressive example being just south of Waterhouse Woodland Gardens.
Bushy Park has facilities including a childrens playground and disabled toilets. You'll be able to pick up refreshments from the booth at Diana car park.
Within the Stockyard (adjacent to the Park Offices, off Hampton Court Road) the Horse Rangers Association run a riding school for the disabled. Cycling for people with special needs is available through the Companion Cycling Scheme.
The park has one rugby pitch (in season it is hired out every week to Teddington RFC). There are also several football pitches (hired out to a variety of teams during the season). Bushy Park is home to the world's oldest hockey club with a continuous history (Teddington Hockey Club) and has three
pitches. Tennis courts are available as are five cricket square and there is an open-air pool. Finally, you can also find a bowling green and, if the fancy takes you, buy an angling season ticket and see what you can catch in the three park ponds.
