Cafedirect Taste Fair London
Taking place within the Whole Foods Market on Kensington High Street, the Cafedirect Taste Fair London events will celebrate the best in ethical, fairly traded food, as well as look at the wider issues surrounding the Fairtrade movement. Daily seed to cup sessions will give visitors the chance to hand roast and taste coffee beans sourced directly from Kilimanjaro, and will include a range of other events to engage and entertain visitors of all ages.

Meet the Experts
Highlights from the Cafedirect Taste Fair in London include a Meet the Experts Session with Tim Maddams, Head Chef of the River Cottage Canteen. Introducing the audience to a rang of seasonal food, Maddams will also be handing out tasting samples from the River Cottage Canteen to whet your appetite for more Fairtrade food. The Meet the Experts Session starts at 3pm on Saturday 21st February 2009, adn tickets cost £5.00.

Grow your own
Another date for the calendar during Fairtrade Fortnight with Cafedirect will be the session with Gardeners World star Joe Swift, who will provide valuable tips on how to succeed in organic gardening. Joe Swift will be at the Cafedirect Taste Fair from 2pm on Sunday 1st March; admission to this event costs £5.00.

Film screening
Another feature of the Cafedirect Taste Fair will be a special screening of Black Gold, hosted by producer and film maker Nick Francis. A documentary engaging with the ethical environmental themes, Black Gold follows the general manager of a coffee farmers' co-operative in Ethiopia as he travels around the world to demand a fair deal for his coffee.

Storytelling sessions
The morning storytelling sessions at the Whole Foods Market during the Cafedirect Taste Fair aim to keep the little ones entertained throughout Fairtrade Fortnight. Highlights include Learn to Sign with Olli the Monkey, an interactive sign language session for children using rhymes and songs at 11am on Monday 23rd February. Another must for the very young will be the story of Harriet Dancing, featuring a hedgehog who wants to dance with everybody. Author Ruth Symes and Harriet will be reading aloud and then leading a craft session to make butterfly finger puppets from 11am on Tuesday 24th February.

The Cafedirect Taste Fair in London runs from saturday 21st February - Sunday 1st March 2009. The events are £5.00 each to attend, excluding the children's storytelling, which is free. For a fill timetable of events and information on how to reserve a space, click on the link below.
