The food was absolutely rubbish and so over priced.
I went there to meet a few friends felt abit peckish and ordered a platter which cost £16.50.

It came and had abit of mushrooms 2 pieces of toast peppers and some chilli thing.

I would NOT recommend this place for food at all. Too overpriced and horrible.

Apart from that the layout of the bar/gestural is nice.

Went there last night to soak up some Spanish atmosphere as I read they would be showing the world cup final. There were many people there as expected but both the inside and courtyard were only moderately crowded and yet they were simply not letting people in. I'm not sure what they were trying to prove, maybe they were trying to be exclusive. Very disappointed as it seemed like a cool spot.

Hi qlb,
I am so sorry to hear this bad experience you had at Camino King's Cross. It would be nice if you could drop by any other day to give as a second opportunity. I would love to hear what else disappointed you so that we can improve it.
Thanks and keep in touch!

I go there regularly breakfast time and love it. I introduced some colleagues and they love it too. The set lunch was delicious last week.

I found the food at Camino really uninspiring and a bland.(?) Not what I expected from it as I had been told good things. For the price I paid I expected alot more. Won't be going back again!

I've been to Camino twice recently. The first time for lunch at the bar with a friend, which was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was great.

The second time was for dinner with friends. Our waiter seemed a bit out of it, rushed and the service disjointed, he walked off mid sentence while discussing our order. The bread we asked for did not turn up until we had almost finished our food. Then it took the best part of 15 minutes to get our bill (while our waiter wiped down and tidied up other tables around us) and another 15 minutes to pay (there was a problem with the card machine but nobody bothered to tell us) despite asking several times. We had enough cash between us, which would have saved us the mad rush to make the last train home. Not exactly a stellar second performance, but I will go back - the food was tasty and good value and hopefully they will be on better form next time.

I live around Kings Cross, so I was already a fan of Camino's bar area. However, I never expected that the restaurant could surprise me and make me like that place even more!
All the staff were really nice, always with a smile on their face and that made all the difference. The food was great! The arroz negro that I had was one of the best thins I had recently, I had to say. Also, their wine list is very good for wine lovers and it was probably the best deal for the money in the restaurant.
Totally recommend!

The restaurant was recommended by a friend that is a lunch time regular. We booked a table for two online for dinner and asked if they could give us a quiet spot as I was with my date.

The gave us a table by the window with a candle, so the ambiance was great! The food was delicious, I'm a meat lover and I ordered the chuleton.

I ordered rare and it was one of the first times in London that I had a proper rare steak! My date ordered the pulpo, which is octopus with potatoes. It was tasty, but a little bit bland.

The olive oil and the paprika season were excellent tho! I don't understand much of wine but the waiter (really friendly and wine knowledgeable, I must say!) recommended El Gordito, which was spot on and with a reasonable price.

After the dinner we went for some drinks on the bar and the music was really good, too bad that I don't know the name of the DJ playing. Really good food and really friendly service.

I definetly reccomend to all: couples, group of friends night out or happy hour with coworkers.Sarah Cross

Camino is without a doubt one of the best bars in London. The staff are mostly fantastic (I have one or two in mind that are truely outstanding), the food is amazing and the atmosphere is always, always friendly. I've taken everyone i can think of here (i'm a local) and the feedback has always been resoundingly positive. I've even had a mothers day lunch with my parents here, and they've recommended to all of their friends!

The bar is tops for 1st dates, quiet drinks or reunions. I can't stress how much I love Camino. I hope it never changes!

I'd heard good things about Camino but was very disappointed with the standard of the food. No doubt the bar has a nice vibe and the staff are very pleasant and helpful, However when it came to our dinner in the restaurant the Tapas were uninspiring with nasty generic calamari (frozen perhaps?) and patatas bravas that were just roast spuds with spicy sauce dollopped on top, my 'char-grilled' fish of the day (Grouper) had no signs of searing from a chargrill and evidently came out of the oven as it was dry and chewy, the salsa verde was over-saly and tasteless. Worse still was the vegetarian option; supposed 'violet' artichokes that were just the baby ones that come in a tin, they came stuffed with grandly named 'spinach brandade' which was in fact tepid mashed potato mixed with spinach and quite revoltingly bad. Puddings were served with style but tasteless and small for the price, we won't be going back and with the prices certainly not cheap next time we'll get a cab to somewhere nearby that really knows its stuff..Moro.

I've been to this place a number of time! The service has always been good and the place is always buzzing! The food is absolutely delicious and very original too! I'd strongly recommend this place to anyone.... ideal for small groups of friends, but is also a nice chilled out restaurant to go to with a partner!

The restaurant looks promising and authentic at first glance. However, as a firm and widely experienced lover of Spanish food, I can warn you against Camino. The menu is very short and even the items offered were uninspiring. The wine list was also very short and disappointing with extremely poor notes on the regional provenance. Great looking venue, shame about the food.

A couple of my friends and I wanted to have a tapas evening out and we found out about Camino from some colleagues at work who had been at the bar.

As we first arrived, the staff seemed very stressed out and we were ushered to our table in a rather hostile manner. The menues, although original where somewhat confusing and rather annoying.

Having lived in Spain, the food can be said to be decent, that is to say, when the food arrived... The starters arrived after about 15 minutes but the mains took absolute ages.

The staff was mediocre but a more pleasant and welcoming staff would have made our evening much nicer.

All in all, staff and customer service skills was not the best and the food was average.
The nice interior design could not make up for the above. If you want a tapas night out, I'd recommend you to try another place.

I made the move to Regents Quarter, Kings Cross the other week and was in need of a good local to take friends to.

Quite randomly on the way home from work I took a quick stroll down the path where it said there was a bar called Camino. Upon seeing this bar I immediately organised a couple of mates for a beer the following evening.

For me this bar had it all; friendly staff, jugs of beer with chilled glasses, cool decor, good music, tapas, massive courtyard, easy vibe, 1 min from flat and good table football (which no one else in the bar seemed to want to play - result!).

Camino also has a great restaurant which I managed to sample the other night. My only complaint is that the Tapas menu was way too small. You feel a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of Kings Cross in this little enclave, a definite change in the tide of the Kings Cross stereotype.

Mark my words Kings Cross will rival anywhere in London for great bars in the coming years!

I went to the bar last night. It was relaxed and had a nice atmosphere. We had some tapas and it was all nice and wasn't too expensive. The staff were happy to advise on how much we should order for two. In fact all the staff were friendly and cheerful.

Camino is a great venue and it's so good for Kings Cross to have such a great place within its midst. If you're short of quality places to go then head to Camino - you'll not be disappointed.
