The Canary Wharf Summer Series presents a summer showcase of free cultural events, including live opera screenings, dance performances and modern theatre. Londoners can make the most of the weather at a showcase of free events throughout the summer.

Alfresco opera
A diverse menu of arts and culture will be served up in the Canary Wharf Summer Series. Highlights include free screenings of live performances from the Royal Opera House, presenting opera to the public in a relaxed outdoor setting. The crowds will be out to enjoy culture in the sun at Canary Wharf an opera screening on Tuesday 30th June and Wednesday 15th July 2009.

Summer Galas at Canary Wharf
Last year, a number of gala events took place at Canary Wharf throughout July, presenting a line up of concerts, performances and films. Highlights included a classic film night, a performance by the London Symphony Orchestra and open air comedy night. Check back soon to see what you can expect for the Canary Wharf Summer Galas in 2009.

Catch some concerts
Canary Wharf also screened several of last year's big summer concerts, including the concert for Diana, and there are sure to be more big gigs on screen here for 2009 as the BBC Proms fill Canary Wharf with the sound of music from around the world.

Big screen sports action
The Wimbledon tennis championships will be shown live on the big screen at Canary Wharf from 22nd June - 5th July, bringing all the action direct to East London. Sports fans can also enjoy live coverage of the British Formula 1 and the Cricket World Cup Twenty20 Final, and highlights from Royal Ascot will be also be on screen to help you make the most of the long evenings in London.

The Canary Wharf Summer Series takes place at Canada Square Park and surrounding areas throughout June and July 2009. All screenings and events are free to attend.
