The Caretaker is one of Pinter’s best-loved plays, full of the playwright’s characteristic subtlety, tension and comedy as the sublime dialogue and impeccable pacing flow through the text. The play sees Jonathan Pryce play the role of Davies, a down and out who is taken out by his acquaintance Aston, who is soon joined by his temperamental brother, Mick. The trio then play out an engrossing build up intrigue as award-winning director Christopher Morahan cranks up the tension in Pinter’s first success as a playwright.

Playing the lead in The Caretaker is Jonathan Pryce, one of the theatre industry’s and television’s most famous faces. He has won a host of awards in a distinguished career that’s seen him star in productions such as Miss Saigon, Comedians, Hamlet, Glengarry Glen Ross, Oliver! and My Fair Lady. Pryce will be directed in The Caretaker by award-winning director Christopher Morahan, so there’s considerable talent both on stage and behind the scenes in what promises to be one of the biggest theatre productions of the year.
