Where
Carnaby
Christmas time is here again and in keeping with previous years the Carnaby Christmas Decorations will be launched in style. It’s one of the best places to shop in London and will once again be lit up by a fantastic array of decorations that snake through the streets of Carnaby.
Sparkling snowflakesThe centre piece of this year's decorations is a huge cascade of snowflakes that are the brainchild of Paul Dart from the James Glancy Design agency. The sparkling snowflakes are set to ride high above the heads of Carnaby shoppers, and brighten up the dreary winter with an effervescent show of glittering shades.
Huge snowmenSet amidst the sumptuous backdrop of the snowflakes will be thirteen oversized inflatable snowmen, all suspended above the twelve streets that make up Carnaby. You'll also be able to see traditional Christmas trees in the Newburgh Quarter, and shimmering light installations in Kingly Court.
Silent Night DiscoWhat better way to launch Carnaby Christmas Decorations than with a real party, and this year you can enjoy the fantastic Silent Night Disco that is taking place. Revellers are invited to boogy beneath the snowflakes and snowmen that are suspended over the streets, as legendary DJ Norman Jay supplies the festive beats. Its a great opportunity to dancers of all ages to impress in the sylish surroundings, and an excuse for the rest of us to keep warm! There will also be prizes for the most flamboyantly dressed dancers, so make sure you catch you are looking just as good as the iconic decorations.
Enviromentally FriendlyThis year's Carnaby Christmas Decorations will again not use any lights whatsoever - they brighten the place up beautifully by employing the existing Carnaby building up-lighters. During the day they will reflect sunlight thanks to their highly reflective bright white colours.
The 2008 Christmas DecorationsThe 2008 decorations promise to be just as stunning as previous years, and with Carnaby remaining one of the best places to go Christmas shopping, it will look wonderfully festive, be environmentally considerate and, best of all, be supporting another very worthwhile charity.
