Where

Carnaby

Christmas time is here again and in keeping with previous years the Carnaby Christmas decorations are being launched in style. It’s one of the best places to shop in London and will once again be lit up by a fantastic array of decorations that snake through the 12 streets of Carnaby.

Stylish Carnaby
The centre piece of last year's Carnaby Christmas decorations was a series of giant inflatable globes, measuring 4 metres in diameter. Alongside planets, stars, sputniks and life size astro Santas wearing space suits and fish bowl space helmets, the space age decorations rode high above the heads of Carnaby shoppers and brightened up the dreary winter with an effervescent show of glittering shades. A similarly spectacular and unusual light display is expected once again for 2011.

Glitter and sparkle
Set amidst the sumptuous backdrop of the inflatable decorations are hundreds of sparkling lights, all suspended above the twelve streets that make up Carnaby. Shoppers can browse for the perfect Christmas present in a quirky festive setting, in a refreshing alternative to the traditional lights to be found across London.

Christmas shopping
Launch the festive season in true style by paying a visit to the Carnaby Christmas decorations and lights that are suspended over the streets. The lights are switched on during the evening of Thursday 10th November 2011 and remain in place until Friday 6th January 2012, so there's plenty of time to see the unusual and innovative display.

50 years of Carnaby fashion
This year's Carnaby Christmas decorations end a year of special events that have celebrated over 50 years of Carnaby as the hub of fashionable London in 2011. Last year, the James Glancy Design Agency had a hand in creating the Christmas decorations, which featured intergalactic Santas, satellites, planets and plenty of festive and colourful fun. Click back soon for information on the 2011 display after the details are announced.

The 2011 Christmas decorations
The 2011 decorations promise to be just as stunning as previous years, and with Carnaby remaining one of the best places to go Christmas shopping, it will look wonderfully festive for a refreshingly quirky Christmas.
