Get in the festive mood on Carnaby Street and surrounding areas as the Carnaby Christmas lights brighten up the fashionable shopping district.

Unique decorations
Featuring some of the most unusual Christmas decorations and lights in London, the Carnaby Christmas lights have a distinctive theme for 2011 to celebrate Carnaby Street's reputation as a unique shopping destination. Past years' decorations have embraced a quirky space age theme and the swinging '60s, and for 2011 the display incorporates both light and sound for the first time.

Colourful Christmas
This year, the Carnaby Christmas lights feature holographic green holly leaves and red berry garlands sandwiched between giant mistletoe chandeliers. Each chandelier contains 22 colour changing berries that are coordinated to music, with the Ronettes song I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa providing more in the way of festive cheer.

Switching on date
The Carnaby Christmas lights and decorations are being unveiled on Thursday 10th November 2011. The boutiques and independent shops across Carnaby's 12 streets are bound to be even more popular over the Christmas period, as shoppers snap up the perfect gift under the area's unique Christmas decorations.

The Carnaby Christmas lights will be switched on in the evening of Thursday 10th November 2011. The lights can be seen thoughout the Christmas period, until Tuesday 3rd January 2012.
